About Jem Florals
The story of Jem florals grew out of a sad, yet happy tale. A “gem” is defined as a precious stone, especially when cut and polished or engraved.
The Story
Hi, my name is Dianna Hill and thank you for visiting Jem Florals. My “Jem” was Juanita Elizabeth McCants, my sister. Through the years, Jesus cut and polished and engraved her name on his hand. After fighting her battle with cancer for three years, she met him face to face on January 14, 2021. When I decided to take a passion and make it a business, the name “Jem Florals” just came so clearly to me. I knew they were her initials yet, I attempted to make it something cleverer…fancier than that. One was “joyfully engaging in memories”. That wasn’t bad, it was sincere, and I knew that it made sense because I truly will enjoy engaging in your memories. Then…I realized, if I am doing this and would like to honor my sis at the same time; why am I complicating it?
(simple answer? Because that’s what I do. Lol)
So…I’m not…I’m not going to complicate it.
My sister’s favorite flower was a yellow rose. Her favorite color was blue. (she most often wore purple though because lavender/purple are her husband’s fav.)
I miss her every day. That’s the side of the tale. The happy tale is “he had a place prepared for her so that he could take her unto himself and welcomed her in, “well done, good and faithful servant.”
About Dianna Hill
I was married for 35 years to an amazing man: David. He fought his battle with cancer for six short months. Funny enough…his favorite color is blue, and his favorite flower was also a yellow rose. They passed away six months of each other.
So…what does a gal do when the two people she’s closest to in the world are now gone? Well, i guess some people make lemonade…I make flower arrangements.
I am the grandma of 13 wonderful grandchildren. I likely don’t act my age, whatever that looks like at 63. I love to laugh and spend time with my family. I am blessed to have three great sons and three well-chosen daughters-in-law. I love people and love to see them smile and if here is a way for me to contribute to that, it brings my heart great joy.
Welp! That’s me and that’s a wrap!
